Why Blue Mesa
Blue Mesa Reservoir is located on the upper reaches of the Gunnison River and is the largest lake located entirely within the state. It is a multi-recreational area known for Kokanee salmon and trout fishing. Tim Rodie, the father of Ty Rodie (one of Blue Mesa Electric’s founders) was a legend in the electrical industry and used to fish there. He owned an electrical contracting company where the three owners of Blue Mesa Electric met and had done work together. Blue Mesa is a nod to the company’s Colorado roots and the spirit of Tim Rodie as the inspiration and spark of the idea for Blue Mesa Electric of today and our logo design is based on the Blue Mesa Dillon Pinnacles.
